Arrr, talk like a pirate day. Gar.

Today is "International Talk like a Pirate Day," or so everyone is telling me. I think it’s funny that so many of my friends know about this. How do they know? Did they receive an email? See it on TV? How does everyone know about this? And, why is it getting so much attention? Do pirates, I mean real pirates, even still exist? You know, I bet this whole thing was invented by the marketing folks at Disney. It’s probably their final effort to stir up interest in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl before it leaves the box office.
Now in the spirit of "Talk like a Pirate Day", I’d like to give a birthday shout out to my favorite fashion designer, who ironically could very easily look like a pirate with the right attire. Ahoy, Happy Birthday Marc Jacobs! Aye, me parrot concurs! I wish I could say that pirate speak came from my own imagination, but I can’t. I found a pirate translator, so enjoy the last few hours of “Talk like a Pirate Day” yourself mate!

YES! There are still Pirates! Or at least according to my friend Rhett who used to be a merchant marine and he's seen em out on the high seas! I too knew about this holiday but only because my friend in China told me last year. weird.
