A New Crush...

Have you ever gone through a period in life where you stop listening to music? It's a sign of dysfunction I know, but I can relate. I used to go to shows all the time, pick up CDs at Easy Street, and influence friends about new artists, but for some reason my life got complicated, busy and so I stopped making the effort. So sad! Well, I'm pretty sure that phase is over now.

All my rants and raves bring me to talk about my new crush--Alexi Murdoch. I heard NPR profile Alexi on my way to the airport this week and his story piqued my interest. Alexi is an indie artist who's been in the studio recording for years now and has with much anticipation released his first record. KEXP plays his music from time to time and after hearing the interview I decided to go with friends to his Seattle show at the Crocodile Cafe. The venue felt like a Bikram Yoga studio it was so hot, but the energy in the room was high and his voice was so soothing that no one dare leave the show. If you're looking for something mellow, check out Alexi's music. His lyrics are deeply romantic and to top it off the man is beautiful, exotic and charming. Every girl in the place wanted him, including me :)Wow!

a) I like your writing, its very good.
b) I know exactly how you feel about dropping out of the music scene. When I was in college, music was a gigantic chunk of my life. Hell, I even had a radio show on the college station. But now it seems that I only listen to the crap that clearchannel feeds me.
c) I hope you keep writing when you move to NYC.

And, If you don't already know about these blogs... well, you're about to join them :-)

Why thank you! I definitely plan on continuing to blog while in NY. I haven't read a NW girl in NY blog yet, maybe I could be the first! Or, is that cliche? Thanks again!
